Amazing view, really special place indeed, really nice pools for both kids & adults, water is warm. We also liked fresh food (good options for kids as well). The staff friendly (even though not all are willing to speak english). The room was perfect with additional sofa for 2 kids. Also we liked parking place very much.

We should have stayed longer. 2 nigh was not enough to properly appreciate the location and service this hotel offered. Beautiful location, with views to the river, excellent food, comfortable rooms and bed, quiet relaxation. Massage also available. Staff is more than happy to assist anything you might need. Leisurely drive away from fantastic wineries. I would highly recommend it.

It was such a lovely place with the most beautiful view and managed by a super kind and friendly family. The room had a wonderful view on the mountain and the pool was amazing. We were even asked about the breakfast time if it fits our time. Also the breakfast was delicious and Portuguese style. Thank you so much!

I had a wonderful time - the couple Jose and Fatima are very attentive, sweet hosts, who try to make your stay as nice as possible. If you are interested in local history or culture, Jose is very helpful in telling you about it! Everything was extraordinarily clean, and although the rooms are simple, they are kept in excellent shape and climated. They are traditionally furnished for the region Breakfast is plentiful and varied, with lots of fruit and veggies from their own garden. Special requests can be made in advance. I would always come again!

Wow, what an exceptional surprise. We booked this accommodation the day before and were absolutely thrilled with it. Greeted by Maria, although we didn’t share a language she made sure we had everything we needed. The room was spacious and comfortable, lovely pool and an unmatched peacefulness only broken by the church bells. The rooms are in the vineyard and it was exceptional value for money. Nicely equipped kitchen although I would recommend taking any food supplies before you arrive as there is not very much locally. Lovely restaurant fairly close by although we used the facilities and self catered. Absolute bliss

    The hotel is situated in a quiet spot which suited us perfectly as we wanted to chill. There’s nothing much to do in the area. If you’re looking for boat trips, wine tours etc it might be better to stay further up river in Pinhao or Porto.

    our stay at the Douro Royal resort and spa enhanced our appreciation of the Douro river and valley. we watched sunset from our walk out private balcony. cruise ships sailed by added to the recognition of its popularity. we should have stayed longer to enjoy all that Ribo Douro has to offer. highly recommend.
