The hotel is a modern 7 storey structure with views over the north and west of the city. Built in a traditional style, it is a family run business located on a quiet lane west of the busy Thamel tourist area. We spent a week there, with no particular itinerary, just walking, browsing and eating at backstreet nepalese, indian and chinese restaurants (which were all good, the chinese in particular providing a wide choice of regional foods from Tianjin, Shanghai and Lang Zhou). We found it a perfect place to use as a base for shopping in the nearby market streets and for walking out across the city to the Monkey temple, Kathmandu and Patan Durbars. The breakfast was really good with a choice of cooked and continental, massala chai, proper espresso-machine Americano coffee and eggs to order. The owners, Mina and Dolakh, are friendly and attentive, the rooms are clean and spacious, the roof terrace was a delight.

My wife and I visited Thamel recently and stayed in Kathmandu Aguntuk hotel. This hotel is located in the prime location of Thamel. The breakfast was really good! All the staffs were super helpful throughout our stay. We were about to miss our flight while coming back from Nagrokot, due to the prompt action of the taxi driver Mr. Kapin and the hotel Manager Mr. Subash, we were able to catch the flight. My wife lost her phone while the flight. Hotel manager Mr. Subash found the phone and reached out to us. We are very much great full for the help and hospitality we have received. We strongly recommend this hotel!

Super helpful staff, free airport transport, nice breakfast and super cheap laundry service right in the middle of Thamel . The room was comfy and spacious. If we come back to Kathmandu, definitely coming back, no complaints.

One of the highlights of our trip was a Himalayan exploration tour that the hotel staff arranged for us. The price was reasonable, and we spent a whole day hiking in the hills, getting closer to the majestic mountains we had longed to see. It was exactly what we were looking for, and we truly appreciated how effortlessly they helped make it happen. Everything about our stay was wonderful, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Superb location in a very quiet alley close to a very big tree . Very well ventilated rooms and breakfast has lots of varieties..it is almost like brunch and is served from 7 am to 10 AM . Presence of owner Mr. Raj and his brother Mr. Rajendra on the property gives personal touch Both the brothers are very friendly and helpful to take care of your travel needs and money exchange.with good rates .
