Matches the description and photos. Not huge, but spacious enough for our family of 6, and the kitchen is sufficient for preparing family meals. The views are, of course, great, and the area is quiet. There is a second one being built further along the hill, which isn't close enough to be intrusive, but will reduce the isolation a bit. A short drive to town, where there is a reasonable-sized grocery store, as well as a really nice glass artisan (who arranges glass blowing sessions, and is very nice). I don't think I would recommend the house for anyone not using a car, unless you are really comfortable with uphill walks, because it would be 30 minutes uphill from the town (going back and forth, not straight up). Overall, if you're looking at the listing and thinking it seems like a good option, then we'd certainly recommend it, as it is just as described, and was a really nice and memorable stay.

    The Ulvik cideries were fantastic.

    The Ulvik cideries were fantastic. Walking, biking, and jogging around the town and the surrounding area was so fantastic. One of the farms has an Excellent bakery that is open on Friday afternoon (only for a few hours that one day). Kayaking in the fjord was incredible. Exploring the surrounding areas and waterfalls was simply amazing. Great hikes all around. The town has limited options for groceries and places to eat out, but nevertheless provides everything needed. Definitely worth a visit for a quiet spot to explore the beautiful nature of Norway.

    The staff at the hotel very the friendliest and the most helpful imaginable. Even the night porter seemed happy to see me and served my breakfast with a smile going the extra mile even though I was checking out at 4am. The restaurant is pricy but lovely. The location of the hotel at the fjord is beautiful and the garden gives the place a relaxing, comfortable feel. The balconies are really sweet and handy. I loved the opportunity to swim in the fjord, I was surprised how warm the water was.

    Fantastic location with a Fjord view from the room location. On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful with a young gentleman giving a guided tour of the hotel and the facilities. The views from the hotel are spectacular and provide an elevated view across the Fjord. Walking distance to the Ulvik pier and centre area and a short walk to the local store.

    It was a pleasure to stay in this hotel. Our sons were found of this staying due to all the attention paid into providing a lot of games: old arcade game, pool, ping pong, badminton, babyfoot, trampoline! That was the first time we met such attention, and that was very enjoyable. The breakfast was good.

    The location of the hotel is excellent, but like most Norwegian hotels the rooms are fairly basic and old, the hotel needs a renovation. The room we had King Suite with Balcony was roomy and had table and lounge suite. The views from our room was spectacular.
