We loved everything. The views, the town, the food, the nature....we found a place we want to return to year after year in this hotel! The phenomenal pool was also an added bonus.

This traditional house had lots of character. It was full of interesting items, old cots spinning wheel and an old loom. The house had a Washing machine that was vital in our holiday. The owner had thoughtfully kept an airer.The kitchen was fully equipped. The location in Loen valley was so beautiful.

first of all the scenery is breath taking even in Norwegian standards. But more than that- during our visit we were hosted in more than 10 locations and this was unanimously agreed to be the best place. really up there with international standards. extremely clean, the furniture and appliances are top of the line and new. a plus- the washing machine also serves as a dryer (most places don't have this and problematic for one night stays). none of this business (that is apparently very common in Sweden and Norway) for an extra fee if you want linen and towels! in this place it is part of the service and the bedding and towels were superb. the interior design is very pleasing. you can tell that a lot of thought and care was put in to every aspect. for example if a place advertises it can sleep 6 some places don't provide enough chairs and space to seat everybody at the dining area - not the case here! it was the only place we experienced that offered an instant coffee machine with complimentary capsules. This is a standard courtesy now in hotel rooms in my country but apparently not yet in Norway. a small effort that gave us great pleasure.

    My adult daughters and I were visiting Norway and planned...

    My adult daughters and I were visiting Norway and planned to drive from Bergen to Alesund. We chose the Loen because it was about half way between each city. We spent two nights at the Loen. The beds were comfortable. Food was very good considering my kids are vegetarian. Desert table was amazing. Spa area was lovely, relaxing and we spent a few hours just lounging in the waters - showere, sauna, steam, cold plunge, whirlpool etc. Pools were also fun. We also went hiking in the area. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would recommend it to anyone traveling in the area.
