    This was my first time in Fredrikstad and my stay was for business travel. The area is friendly, has modern charm, and had plenty of shops and restaurants to explore. I hope to return again and stay longer on a personal schedule with my wife to enjoy more of the area.

    It is a great place to visit during the summer, with lots of people in town and at the restaurants by the pier promenade. The city center is quite compact, so you can walk from the railway station in one end, to the football stadium in the other end, in about 25 minutes. The city is by the ocean, so there are a lot of beaches and places to swim just outside the city proper. The nightlife is quite good too, especially during weekends.

    On my arrival (Sunday 23 June) at nearly 8pm, the receptionist was extremely helpful, advising me of good places to eat, and recommended a very good pub with a good selection of ales, it made for a very pleasant evening. The welcome was very friendly and hospitable. Staff like her are an asset to a hotel. My bike was accommodated. It was a brief but very pleasant stay, and the breakfast buffet was excellent.

    Conveniently located, at 300 meters from the bus stop, on the pedestrian street of the city. Bars, coffee shops, restaurants nearby. I can recommend to take breakfast at the hotel, because prices are very high in the city. Compared with other European countries, Norway is a very expensive country, even if you buy from the supermarket. The city is small and nice, and the hotel is on European standard.
