Vierhouten might only be a small village, but since it's...
Vierhouten might only be a small village, but since it's located at a bustling intersection in an area where you'll find heath, moorland and woods there is plenty of nature to experience. Somehow this village is littered with places to drink and eat and, if need be, sleep. During WWII Vierhouten played an important role in secretly providing shelter to those who hid from the Germans. A small yet impressive exhibition on this topic can be found at De Vossenberg. Be sure to check that out! And while you're at it, also visit the "Verscholen Dorp" a few miles into the woods, the rebuilt hidden settlement for the wartime people in hiding.
