We stayed here after visiting Ise Jingu.
We stayed here after visiting Ise Jingu. Really enjoyed the open air onsen, and the spacious tatami room. Toba is a VERY small town and very quiet with not much to do. Toba itself is nothing much - which makes it a great place...
Toba itself is nothing much - which makes it a great place to relax - but the view from our hotel over the bay was wonderful. We've stayed twice in hotels with a sea view and it's very relaxing. If you like aquariums, the one in Toba is supposed to be very good, but we didn't go. However, we've been twice to Mikimoto Pearl Island, which well worth visiting if you are interested in the history of cultured pearls. There's a demonstration of pearl diving and an interesting museum. The Ise Grand Shrine is not far by train and worth visiting once. Toba is great for seafood and especially Ise Ebi (Japanese spiny lobster) which is served in many different ways.Guest review byStephen GosdenUnited Kingdom

It was 1:30 when clear and no more than 2hrs on Saturday and Sunday using the ISE express way. The hotel was great beds were really comfy, bathroom was nice, plenty of space, google translate has been a god send for the language barrier and my lack of Japanese. We arrived early because I was worried about a reported train delay but we were able to check in early so we had time to rent bikes and explore. Our room was unbelievably spacious. As promised, every room has a seaview, and so does its lounge, where you can get free drinks and ice popsicles round the clock.
