Tanabe was our starting point for our Kumano Kodo trek so we stayed in Tanabe only one day not realizing how much there is to do in Tanabe. If we ever come to Tanabe again, we will be sure to stay longer to enjoy all that there is to do there. We paid for the meal option, to cover dinner, breakfast and a bento box for lunch while hiking, and the food was delicious. Our hosts looked after all our needs, including transportation in the morning a couple of kilometres up the road to Takijiri and the start of our trek on the Kumano Kodo. It was nice sharing meals with other guests who were also hiking the trail. We ended up crossing paths with them along the way.Guest review byDavidAustralia

It is perfectly located, right near the bus and train station. So you don't have to go far. I didn't enjoy breakfast, but there is a 7/11 at the train station. The internet was stable, the room was big enough and clean. The whole hotel is a bit old-fashioned, but that didn't bother me. Check-in is only from 4 p.m., please note.Guest review byDanielGermany
