Quite conveniently near Fujinomiya Station (less than 10min walk), good for those who don’t drive. Very spacious, clean, and cosy traditional Japanese-style rooms with tatami floors and absolutely comfortable futon beds. High quality service from the staff who were very friendly, courteous and hospitable, even when we couldn’t speak Japanese and English was also minimal for them, they still did their very best. Just using phone translators can be useful! The private bath is free and had a nice outdoor bath with a view of Mt Fuji if lucky on a clear day! The inclusive breakfast was also traditionally Japanese and a true Japanese experience. It is a small family style ryokan with only less than 10 rooms, so it felt very homely rather than a commercial stay. There are also nice eateries nearby and a convenience store which is close to Fujinomiya Station. You can easily get to tourist spots like Omiya-Yokocho or Shiraito Falls from this stay as well. We arrived past the check-in time at 11pm (check in was until 9pm) and the staff was still still waiting at the entrance for our arrival with the footwear meant for us at the doorstep, even worrying that we were not going to arrive and forfeit the stay. The staff even urged us to quickly use their private bath while the water was still warm enough, and it was already past the bath’s opening hours. So overall the experience is exceptional and really worth the price as well!

Everything. We absolutely loved our stay – it was the highlight of our trip. Everything was beautifully prepared, and the view of Mount Fuji and the torii gate was simply breathtaking. The host was very friendly and accommodating and I enjoyed my conversation on the history of this ryokan and its surrounding area in Fuji. Room cleaning and the changing of the futon sheets are conducted daily. The washing machines on the second floor open air balcony can be used without extra cost, poles are installed with ample hangers around to hang your clothes to dry if the dryer is unavailable. Also on the second floor are ashtrays for individuals who smoke although please be reminded that smoking is limited only to the balcony area. Yoshiwarahoncho station(2 stops after changing from JR Yoshiwara station) is about a 8-10min walk away from Taiya Ryokan. They sell handmade soba/udon in the restaurant adjacent to the ryokan entrance so do give it a try!

The cleanness is exceed my expectation and whole hotel is non smoking. I really love they even have onsen in this scale of hotel. Very close to convenient store. Also the hotel have lots of parking space for car.
