We stayed in the apartment down the road from the main residence and were extremely happy with it. We appreciated the spaciousness, the quiet rustic setting, the outdoor sounds, and the full kitchen facilities, not that we would cook but we could make coffee and store food. There is a pub near the apartment that closes at 9pm and we did not hear any noise. We were a short drive to the main residence for breakfast which was ample with great coffee. The restaurant was closed but Roberto suggested 2 excellent spots about a 10' drive up the hill. This is a lovely spot to relax and inhale nature for a few days (there are excellent walks on the property) or a respite from the bustle of Bologna, which was only 30' drive away. Highly recommended.

Beautiful surroundings, lots of space, very clean and well decorated. AMAZING food in the restaurant. I would definitely recommend eating there. The food was delicious, and local + the short menu to have everything fresh.

    We usually stop in Sasso Marconi on our way to the South of Italy from Germany. La Quercia is closed to the motorway, still in a quiet area, on the hills. We dined at Osteria dei Sani in Sasso Marconi, 8 min drive from la Quercia, very good. The property accommodated my request to have a take-away breakfast, since we had to resume our journey early in the morning. I really appreciated it. The room was clean, spacious and fully equipped.

    Sasso Marconi is very small and quiet I didn't have time to...

    Sasso Marconi is very small and quiet I didn't have time to fully explore but getting around on foot or by car is easy enough. Getting in and out from other towns is a different story, if you don't use Italian Telepass you can only exit from the autostrada at the south of the city and cannot enter the autostrada at all. If you're heading north, look forward to at least an hour of heavy traffic on the strada statale and Bologna's ring road before getting away.

    We enjoyed a super nice show for free at the main hall and kids were amazed. This was well published and they also had a workshop which was unfortunately sold out, but as a parent this is anyway a positive sign.

    A beautiful ducal palace with special history.

    A beautiful ducal palace with special history. There is a good cafe in the grounds, a great restaurant, a wide selection of local wines and foods. There are interesting country walks, our dog loved it. The staff are kind and interested in the welfare of guests. The restaurant service was first class, not intrusive but we did not have to wait long for service. Quality of the food was excellent, the best steak and lamb that we have had in over twenty years of visiting Italy. We will return next time we drive through the area.

    Agriturismo Rio Verde is the perfect place to be if you are travelling by car as it has a great parking and it’s location is also close enough to Sasso Marconi and Bologna. Roberto is very friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to Roberto help us to self-checkin and prepare the dinner when we arrived in the night. Highly recommend when you want to stay in Sasso Marconi or Bologna . The farm is so beautiful, the breakfast is so delicous and rich. The room is so clean, comfortable and warm. Every thing is perfect well beyond our expectations.

    Lovely picturesque location in the hills south of Bologna. We travelled with a car, so it was easy to get to the house. The breakfast was wonderful and the lady that was preparing it on our first morning was so friendly.
