With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.

Prepare your Hungarian: learn how to pronounce at least and a simple vocabulary, otherwise you'll be very restricted either to your hotel services or the world-wide fast food brands and so on. Budapest is truly a magnificent city to visit. There are numerous sights/sites to see and visit with a gazillion options dotted all around the city to eat and drink also. The Danube and the views along the waterfront are amazing and even more so in the evening/night time. The city feels so safe even walking around day or night and I never felt threatened or unsafe in any area. Budapest has so much energy about it and the atmosphere is electrifying all day long.
