Fantastic location, gorgeous private beach, clean water and unbeliavable view. The owner and family are extremely kind and pay attention to the details. They have their high quality restaurant too: we had a delicious dinner with a view to the see from the hights. It is perfect for those, who don't like big hotels and need a beutiful and peaceful place to relax. Morning cofees on the cliffs was one of our favourites... Also it has a very convenient location with sandy and rocky beaches around, with food store and beach bars in the vicinity.

We arrived in the evening and Anna was waiting for us, we had had a long day and were very tired ( my mother is 82) Anna made us feel very welcome and helped us with our cases, gave us cold drinks etc which were very appreciated! In the morning I took a walk to the small shop that had basics, it took about 8 minutes and Anna and her husband Ivan kindly gave me a lift back to the apartment! During the course of our stay they couldn’t have been kinder, home made cake, marmalade, figs from garden even a lift to the beach and sorted our early morning journey back to the ferry for us! The apartment itself was spacious with a lovely terrace, kitchen well equipped ( we cooked every eve as restaurant a bit too far for my mum in the heat and very expensive). A restaurant and lovely sandy beach were about 10-15 walk away, probably closer if you’re younger! All in all we had a fabulous relaxing time which is the whole reason we chose to visit there, the apartment was very comfortable, beach not crowded, sea calm and warm but most of all we couldn’t have asked for nicer hosts, thank you Ivan and Anna you made our holiday!

Unique location near a beautiful cove beach with small bar. The family and staff that run this are wonderful and warm with vision and ambition. The infinity pool is perfect with a stunning view . The apartments are well appointed and have everything and more than you need particularly if you want to cook. But it’s the restaurant that excels . Using superb home grown and locally sourced ingredients the meals are prepared and served with knowledge and enthusiasm . It’s not cheap compared to other parts of Croatia but this is an island a third of which is a national park . It’s really special without being stuffy with indoor and outdoor eating which is hard to find on mljet . You need a car if you want to explore the island and the ferry is fun but there probably are trips you could do .

We loved the super friendly hosts, they were so kind and helpful. Our apartment was very spacious, clean and cozy, perfect for our family, we enjoyed spending time on the terrace. It is a place that everyone would like to visit again.

Warm welcome, arrived a few hours early, but no problem. Given a choice of apartments, both overlooking the bay. Everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We were able to leave luggage while we hiked the next day before taking ferry back to Dubrovnik.

Though it's not super-modern inside, I found the atmosphere of the place very congenial. This was added to by the kindliness of the lady that I dealt with, Ana, who went out of her way to be helpful. And the cat. There is a small swimming spot just a few metres away.

    The place we stayed there in Saplunara was a bit far from...

    The place we stayed there in Saplunara was a bit far from most of the "tourist" things to do on the island, but we weren't there for sightseeing necessarily so it wasn't a problem for us. The "things to do" on the island (like the National Park, St. Mary's Island, the Roman ruins) weren't difficult to get to because we had our own car. What we loved the most was how quiet it was and that there were very few people there. We almost felt like we had the island to ourselves at times, which is fabulous! Obviously, our stay was just outside of the normal tourist season, so not many things were open and the beaches weren't quite cleaned up, but there was a grocery store open, which was helpful. We ate most of our meals in our apartment. One of our favorite things was finding a hidden beach and enjoying it all to ourselves.

    Everything about our stay was perfect from the wonderful...

    Everything about our stay was perfect from the wonderful location overlooking the sea.. a tranquil cove, to the beautifully furnished, spacious apartment with everything you could need in it . The hostess made us feel so welcome and the food was absolutely delicious.. we are looking forward to a return visit!

    It is a quiet place, where you can get your rest, you have some good food options, and a good not expensive shop. The beaches Mala Saplunara and Limuni(Blace) beach are very nice and refreshing. We reccomend you have a car, to be able to get to other parts of the island, because the bus connections are not good. We loved eating in Popay fast food and in Stremasi restaurant( its expensive but worth it)

    Saplunara is a beautiful area - several sandy beaches, green hills, and a lovely calm inlet that was protected from the prevailing westerly winds. Very tranquil and relaxing. Several restaurants and beach cafes as well as sun loungers and umbrellas to rent.
