A highly interesting and atmospheric town with at least 2 good restaurants. It is set on a steep hillside and a good deal of strenuous walking is included in a stay-walking is the only way to get around. The 2500 years old stone lion on the edge of town is worth the effort to get to it. The beaches rival those of anywhere in the world. This history of the Island is fascinating and the locals genuinely friendly. I would recommend this Island and in particular the villa we stayed at for peace, tranquillity and beauty. The view of the harbour at night is so beautiful. You are given a list on arrival and you tick the items on it that you want. However you will get the same things everyday unless you ask to change! Our room was super clean, bright and airy and very tastefully equipped. Great attention to detail. We had a very nice balcony with the most spectacular views of Kea and nearby islands. There's a mini-market nearby, cafes and restaurants , and a supermarket within a short (admittedly uphill!) walk. The place is kept clean and is well equipped with everything you might need.
