Fabulous location by sea. Great communication from Simon and easy access to flat. I read the other review and the (very minor)issues have been rectified . Great for a couple for an overnight base to explore. Comfy bed and great waking up to noise of seagulls ! All mod cons in kitchen - Coop and fish and chip shop across the road - lovely 💕

The surrounding views from our windows were lovely.

The surrounding views from our windows were lovely. The Motel is situated in just the right position for our visit. We have friends in Winchelsea and Rye and it’s also close to Hastings and Tenterden. Also National Trust properties. Loads of walking opportunities and places to eat including Spikes restaurant at the motel One small downside was the pop up plug in hand basin leaked water when my husband was trying to shave.

The question as put means our answer is rather misleading.

The question as put means our answer is rather misleading. We did not have time to explore Winchelsea as we would have liked, but spent much of our time in Rye, a quarter-hour drive away and with enough to keep us busy ind interested for two days. We only scratched the surface of the possibilities of the wider area. In Rye, park as soon as you can in any of the car-parks at the foot of the hill and walk. There is masses to see, but the one-way system within the town can be a nightmare to the unwary.

Superb breakfast mushrooms and healthy options. Very pretty house right next to bus stop to Rye, which only takes a few minutes to reach. Guests can use the dining room for eating takeaways and snacks - a very good idea, as there are few eating options in Winchelsea apart from the New Inn. Marvellous Rye Harbour and town nearby.
