Swinton is definitely not a pretty town, but it is a...
Swinton is definitely not a pretty town, but it is a convenient base for getting further afield. Buses pass through to Rotherham and Doncaster, and there are mainline train stations in both Swinton and Mexborough. Meadowhall shopping centre is a short train ride away, and there are cinemas in Meadowhall as well as Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham. Swinton has lots of takeaways, a good Co-op, post office, pharmacy and other shops, with more close by in Mexborough.
