    Staines, like most towns in the UK is suffering from decline of the traditional high street. This is mainly due to out of town shopping centres and large supermarkets. Very good market in the high street on a Saturday.

    Staines was close to the attractions we wished to visit (Legoland and Chessington) and had a range of takeaways, restaurants and shops near to our accommodation. Parking was available locally and it made a good base for travel.

    Well located for access to from M25/M3/Heathrow.

    Well located for access to from M25/M3/Heathrow. It was a good base for a 2 day visit to Windsor & then Twickenham. Trains run regularly to both. Town was well facilitated with shops, food outlets both major and independent businesses

    Lovely location near the river Thames which was nice to walk by in the morning and evenings. Good local area with shops and restaurants and the train station goes straight into London. Really easy to access nearby transport links and Heathrow airport too.

    We stayed in Staines because it's close to Windsor and we...

    We stayed in Staines because it's close to Windsor and we were visiting the castle. The view of the river Thames from our hotel (The Swan) was lovely. It was interesting to watch so many different boats, kayaks and barges passing by. We went for a short walk around the hotel and everything looked clean and very serene.

    Central location in Staines (upon Thames!) and hotel's own parking facility was much appreciated. Loved hotel's location near the river Thames. Rooms small but lovely. Hotel obviously been updated within the last few years but could do with more facilities, ie restaurant and bar.

    Great location for Thorpe park (9 minute drive) and fantastic walk into Staines for train to London (£9 per person return). Such a cosy little house that the 5 of us (2 mums and 3 teens) called home for 4 nights. Such a sociable and clean happy home.
