You could spend a couple of days visiting the high street...
You could spend a couple of days visiting the high street for shopping. Property was in a good location, so walk to the high street was about 10 minutes. Also about a 12 minute walk to the Railway station, and a bus stop from which you could get to Faversham. The White Horse pub on Charlotte street does a super Sunday lunch, also the Wetherspoons pub has a good menu and prices are good too. The hotel is not suitable for kids despite having very limited times for kids to use the pool which makes you feel like they're being tolerated rather than feeling welcome. The locals using the pool and sauna were friendly and chatty and noted their surprise that kids are allowed to use the pool.The garden outside with play area was evidently not looked after and our kids played only for a couple of minutes there. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet at Watercress Barns. The balcony apartment was very well equipped, bright and comfortable. Perfect for our 3 nights stay. It had parking if needed, we travelled by train and it was a 15 minute walk to the station and main shops of Sittingbourne but 2 local shops within minutes of the apartment. It’s not as we thought in Sittingbourne high street but a village called Milton which is lovely with shops, restaurants and pubs and a park and nice and quiet.
