Delightful stay. A beautifully appointed manor house with the grand portraits, gilded mirrors and beautiful objets but with all the comforts of a much-loved home. Kris and Steven were welcoming and considerate hosts.     Hayfield is a lovely location - a small Peak District...

    Hayfield is a lovely location - a small Peak District village with 4 local pubs three of which serve excellent food (check to make sure when they open). There are also a couple of other restaurants / diners including an excellent Italian. Hayfield is an excellent place as a centre for walking around Peak District (Snake Pass, Kinder Scout and Lantern Pike) with other locations nearby including walks along old railway paths and alongside beautiful canals. The bus service from Hayfield is also excellent - we parked up for a week and didn't need the car at all!

    Its a great place to relax in the countryside and take in...

    Its a great place to relax in the countryside and take in the scenery. Local walks are great and take you out towards Kinder if you wish. Lots of local walks which lead you to Hayfield village where there are local shops and places to eat. There is a friendly pub five minutes walk away. The house was cosy and had all facilities. Its also quite near to local towns if you wanted to travel further afield. The beds were very comfortable and the fire was lovely especially in the snow.

    We thought it wd be nice to stop in the middle of the Peak...

    We thought it wd be nice to stop in the middle of the Peak District on our way to Manchester. The next day we discovered there are a fair number of hotels in the area but I’m pretty sure they were all more expensive and I doubt the staff would be as welcoming and friendly as they were here. Perfect for walkers, not so much for drivers and/or tourists.

    Lovely scenic village in the heart of the Peak District, great pubs with good beer, a well stocked village store and friendly community. The fells are on the doorstep and easily accessible , lovely views over the Kinder reservoir, peaceful moorland. The river Sett runs through the village and there are lots of spots to sit and relax

    We didn't actually see much of Hayfield, but the bar in the...

    We didn't actually see much of Hayfield, but the bar in the hotel was a perfect local retreat. We didn't try the food, apart from breakfast, because we were having a friends reunion at a different location. I do know that Hayfield is an excellent place for walking and outdoor pursuits.

    Beautiful location and with lots of walking options nearby! It's possible to walk to Kinder Scout from there, so we didn't drive much. The cottage was very well equipped, characterful and clean.

    Solo traveller visiting Hayfield to do plenty of walking, the hotel is in prime location for walking up the nearby Kinder Scout. Room was exactly what was required for tired legs after walking everyday, with a very comfortable bed, spot on tea making facilities and lovely en suite. Excellent breakfast in the morning, evening meal options were very good though became a bit limited towards the end of the week, regardless the staff and service were excellent!

    Very good location in the centre of Hayfield village. Owner kindly allowed early bag/food drop off. Parked outside The George Hotel pub opposite; it serves a good Guinness. Spent two wonderful days walking to Kinder Scout and Edale; trails start just a short distance from the property. Cottage has very adequate cooking and bathroom facilities. Sit on the balcony and appreciate the views yonder.

    We were greeted with real warmth and enthusiasm, and trouble taken to see that we got parking outside the hotel. The room was lovely and excellent for the reasonable price. The breakfast was also excellent. There are good restaurants right near, and we had a great meal at the Italian.

    This shop converted studio is perfectly located in the heart of Hayfield village, directly next to an exquisite pub. It is also as stylish as the photos - every space is well loved and perfectly decorated. Can’t recommend more!
