The hotel was lovely we paid extra to upgrade but unfortunately the spa bath was to high and as we are pensioners this was no good a shame really as it was something we wanted in the room. Hotel apart from that was lovely and wish we had booked for an extra night. Food was lovely would definately recommend. Was a 5 minute walk to Gretna Gateway and althought this was a nice place to look around I found it hadnt really changed since i was there 12 years ago. All in all lovely nights stay. Breakfast was plentiful but there was only one waitress serving and our table was not cleared all the time we had breakfast we felt sorry for the waitress as she was run off her feet so maybe an extra person would of helped. Chris and Tony are lovely and great hosts , full of knowledge from gretna in the war to the best places to visit and eat. The guest house was spotlessly clean , comfortable and Chris's breakfast was fabulous. The train station was an added bonus , it made it easy to enjoy an evening in Carlisle with the family.
