This is a stunning, modern hotel which has recently opened. A lot of thought has gone into the decor and furnishings which are very tasteful. We stayed in a beautiful bedroom with a gorgeous en-suite bathroom. The large double bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. It was served in the conservatory overlooking a delightful garden. Hospitality was first class as all the staff we encountered at Dewars were friendly and attentive.

Staff is absolutely fantastic. We were late for our dinner as we had an accident on the way, but they served us dinner even if it was quite late and were really friendly and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful in beautiful sorroundings, highly recommended

This is a beautiful gastropub with high quality accommodation. We stayed in a room with a small, private garden and it was all very well presented. The staff members were all helpful, professional and happy to have a chat with guests. The food was great and locally-sourced where possible. The Horseshoe is a fantastic base from which to explore this part of Yorkshire.

We stayed for one night to join my parents who were staying for 3 nights for my Mam's birthday. Both rooms were lovely, spacious and clean. The lady who checked us in was very helpful. Breakfast was also very good! There were lots of lambs and bunnies in the fields when we visited which were also very cute!

    Cropton Village has no shop so transport is essential. The nearest shops are in Pickering, where there is a Lidl and a Co-op. There is a garage with a small Spar shop on the road into Pickering. The area is excellent for walking with several footpaths virtually from the door. The New Inn is about 50 yards from the property, serves good food and beers from it's own on-site brewery, which is also open to the public. The Blacksmith's Arms in Lastingham (3 miles) and The Coach House in Rosedale Abbey (5 miles) serve excellent food daily.
