The restoration of the chapel has been done beautifully and the end result is enchanting. Secluded but close to main A road. Perfect for us visiting relatives but not too sure about access to attractions. Location exactly as pre-warned regarding narrow lanes in very bad condition - but not insurmountable.

Fantastic location, lovely, friendly hosts. Amazing full English breakfast! Probably one of the best I’ve had (and I’ve been about). The apartment was lovely and comfortable, especially the bed, as it’s situated surrounded by countryside, it’s so peaceful at night no road noice etc.

Great views over towards the Wirral from the restaurant...

Great views over towards the Wirral from the restaurant terrace. Our rooms were at the back, quiet (except for sounds from rooms overhead) with views of sheep in field. I would have liked some bottled water in the room. Convenient location for visiting family in Mold and touring the area. I would have like to stay longer to try the spa/gym. Our one meal at the restaurant in the evening was great and we liked the wine room - being able to look at the bottles to choose what we were going to have. Good vegan option too. Breakfast was a buffet - very average, fairly standard items available, bacon not great,. We really appreciated being able to ask for poached eggs - cooked to order and perfect. Overall very happy with our stay (a long weekend) - we would return.

I liked the fact it was close to my work, didn’t like the fact I had a very dated room, yet other guests have mentioned refurbished nice rooms on their reviews, and the price of £95 didn’t include breakfast,

The hotel was ideally suited for excursions along the coast...

The hotel was ideally suited for excursions along the coast between Chester and Llandudno (and beyond). In a three night stay, I enjoyed visiting the Conwy Valley, Bodnant Garden, several castles and Holywell, as well as Llandudno itself. The hotel was comfortable with a friendly welcome and good service. The quality of the meals was commendable.

As a single traveler I originally asked for single bed.

As a single traveler I originally asked for single bed. On arrival the receptionist noticed I used a walking stick . She kindly relocated me on the ground floor to avoid stairs. I appreciated this gesture.

Myself & wife and her mum and dad had a lovely time staying at this amazing cottage. We could not have asked for anything better. Pauline has thought of everything and all of us could not praise the accommodation enough. We were in the area to attend a family wedding and the cottage was so much better than staying in a hotel, it really was home from home. It is extremely well presented, very clean and very comfortable, the welcome pack was a really nice touch. The location is very private and safe, I would highly recommend.

The hotel stands in a convenient location on the A55 with a splendid panorama over the River Dee. There is an outdoor terrace which must be a joy in warm weather. It has been, relatively recently, refurbished to a good standard. All members of staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. It was freshly cooked and the hotel has a reputation for excellent food.

Comfortable bed. Spotless bathroom. Good staff, good food, excellent breakfast. Staff attentive. Nice view from dining room. Rooms not too hot but heater available, which was easy to use. Hotel easy to access from main road, but fairly quiet.
