Everything was lovely. The food was good, the staff were helpful and made us (including a lively three year old) very welcome. The bedrooms were very nice and well equipped. A very nice touch was the free food and drink provided! The pool was also a welcome addition.

Recommend : Merlins Cave gastropub. (Private Parking in rear of property.) John Milton’s Cottage / museum in the village. Public green, and children’s play area ,past the duck pond. High Street has an ancient church and buildings of interest. Staff were great, beer and food on point and a great comfortable bed with a decent sized telly which made a change! Helped that the staff were polite and helpful at all times.....Only problem, the wifi only extends to the actual pub/restaurant area and bathroom area could do with updating/modernizing but overall great value for money and would have no hesitation in staying again

Lovely small village. Easy access to motorways to west or north. Plenty of great restaurants writing short distance. Access to London from Amersham straight forward although metropolitan line sometimes unreliable.

Not a lot, dirty room in need of a very good clean When I booked the original cost for the 2 night stay was £204 when it came to paying it had gone up to £224 When I questioned this the girl behind the bar called the cook who was an overweight aggressive lardy who told me it was my mistake a thoroughly unpleasant man who could not care less if I had not paid I would have left this filthy place. I have stayed at this Pub/Hotel before but it was far cleaner in the hotel rooms and the staff where a million times better.

Super staff, bar team were welcoming and accommodating- even accommodated 4 non resistants for breakfast (2 adults 2 kids) thanks to the team and Yin. Yin (manger) took my hotel feedback and issued a refunded our 4 non resident breakfasts, and couldn’t it have been more apologetic. We have used the WH many, many times. It’s conveniently placed and typically offers a room and venue that’s ideal for what we use it for… See comments below ..

The breakfast was excellent. We didn't eat dinner. Best described as a nice English pub in style. The room we stayed in was in a block away from the main Hotel. Might be difficult in the rain, but also meant the rooms were quiet. We booked here because we were meeting friends close by, but it is very handy for London, Heathrow and the M25. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pub has a large off street car park.

Well appointed room with nice attention to detail with fresh milk in the mini fridge and a fan provided. Comfortable bed and good blackout blinds. Music a bit loud but it stopped before midnight so wasn't an issue. Room quiet despite hotel being in a main road. The food was pretty good.
