We had a wonderful weekend at the castle. The owners managed to perfectly maintain the balance of authenticity and modern comfort. There are several walking paths around the castle, I recommend walking along them. The view of the castle is simply fantastic. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends.

Very good, separate breakfast room with unique objects and decorations. Plenty of good food and coffee, not hurried, some exceptional jams (!) and variety of dishes, option to have something cooked for you. Quiet and very nice way to start the day. Dinner, well, wow! The whole Michelin experience, and I’ve been to a few. That was amazing, the room itself is an art object, the staff looked after me as I was dining alone, the food was sometimes lighthearted (fish soup made to look like Guinness ) but always full of taste and adventure (the pear dessert was, well, I’m stunned). I must go back. I must take my family. You should eat there at least once in your life, make a diversion from your travels.

This is a gem of a boutique hotel. It's tastefully and quirkily decorated, very comfy beds and pillows, and a beautifully warm bathroom. The restaurant gets very busy, so essential to book, plenty of menu choices and a vast wine list and the food is delicious, I imagine one could put on a few kilos if you stayed longer than we did! Thank you to the staff for accommodating us, after a minor communication breakdown meant our table reservation was not on the list, we were quickly housed in the hotel cave (wine shop) on the first floor, truly a private dining experience! Breakfast is fresh croissants, self-serve for boiled eggs and everything else. High quality tea (Frères Dammann) and great coffee. Really close to the Roche de Solutre, about an hour and a half for the round walk. Highly recommend this lovely place!

    Beautiful, authentic Chateau, no too 'posh' but very real and special. The atmosphere was all around - in the room and the secret private Chapel attached to it, the towers, coridors, outside walls, the courtyard, garden, etc. The host Paul was very nice. Breakfast excellent, There is a lake nearby where we took a swim, meadows, forests and trails for walks.

    We spent 7 weeks in Europe this Autumn.

    We spent 7 weeks in Europe this Autumn. This was the best place we stayed. It's romantic, excentric and relaxed. The food is exceptional, the rooms divine, and the owners are lovely. We have very happy memories of our night at the Chateau. We especially loved Henry who seemed to be very keen on our dog Luna.

    The place is perfectly handled by Paul and his team.

    The place is perfectly handled by Paul and his team. If you are lucky; Homere, the Basset Hound, will go and welcome you while you are parking your car. I have been in the Château in winter time and now in spring. It is a beautifull place to sleep and rest well, and to have a nice breakfast in the morning sitting at their terrace. It is a quiet place where you can find the peace you need when you have a stressful way of living. You really smell the good French culture and their quality of life. The restaurant follows high standards and you can have a nice dinner, they change the menu monthly so if you visit them from time to time, you will always enjoy something new. They have a good selection of local wines if you fancy too. A nice experience which I will repeat for sure.
