The countryside was superb and whilst the lanes were narrow, the GPS found the hôtel easily. The parking area was spacious, and other residents friendly and of all nationalités. The property is set in its own grounds in a rural area a little off the beaten track. The room was small but equipped with a comfortable bed, tea/coffee making facilities and a private bathroom with shower over bath, wc and toiletries. The room was quiet and the optional breakfast provided everything you could need for the day ahead. Evening meal, again optional, was good food with ample choices and pretty good value for money. There are a couple of nice outside areas to enjoy a pre-dinner drink too. Being only 1 hour away from Caen this is a great location to stay overnight if catching an early ferry. Food and staff are great. The rooms have everything you need. Much of the hotel is a historic building and must cost a lot to maintain and the owners do as much as they can.
