    Interesting historic town dating from the 11th century, quietly situated behind a courtyard garden with free parking nearby. Fabulous breakfast included which we really enjoyed after a good night’s sleep in comfortable beds.

    Beautiful medieval town along the Loire valley, close to Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé vineyards. In La Charité, you can visit the old church, priory, city walls and enjoy the local Saturday market on the main square. For those looking for a more active holiday, you can enjoy kayaking on the Loire, rent a bike to go cycling in the surrounding countryside or even go horse-riding in the local forest, called the Bertranges. Perfect for a relaxing holiday!

    The host Ira and her son Henri, were so accomadating and friendly, it was as if I was part of their family. Beautiful 14 century property in a historical French town. Be prepared, this is not 5 star hotel but honest and down to earth French hospitality I was leaving at 4 am to motorcycle further south a nd dearest Ira who is like me no longer of youth, insisting on greeting me at 3.30am with crossionts and lovely fresh coffee. Of all the places I stayed I will always remember this one. Thank you Ira.

    hotel was like fawlty towers. if that’s a good thing. walk up to the hotel was like a jungle. old pair ran the hotel, heard them saying they were giving up at the end of the month. they had actually given up before that.

    Nicely decorated hotel. Lovely lady who runs te hotel. I found a parking spot right next to the hotel. Great coffee for breakfast, with a hint of chocolate.
