Great hotel, not so far from the highway which we used for one night stopover during our travel with two cats. The bed was comfortable, room was clean and well prepared. We arrived after the reception hours and the room number plus entrance code were given to us. Good parking close to the entrance.

We stayed just one night on our road trip but that was enough to see the potential of this hotel. They have plenty of space at their parking lot which is for free. The hotel looks very nice decorated and it’s very clean. Our room was big, we also got an upgrade to a suite for free. The staff was very nice. Even though the hotel is close to the road, which was perfect for our purpose of just sleeping in on our way home, it’s pretty quiet. I can totally recommend this hotel and would choose it again if I’m in this town. The AC was a little tricky but kept the room with the perfect temperature.

    An elegant small city just two-and-a-quarter hours from Calais, and about 60 minutes north of Paris, Compiegne is certainly worth exploring. It is also a great place to stop off to, or on the way back from, a longer holiday in France.

    2 or 3 days would work well

    2 or 3 days would work well Plenty to see around the Chateau and its grounds. Hard to get to the Armistice clearing to see the train carriage without your own car, there's no real public transport to it. But exploring the area around there could make an interesting day There's a memorial to Buchenwald that I did not get to. The pedestrianised old town is pleasant to walk around with a great Town Hall.

    great bike paths in the forest. the city is not bike-friendly. most of the roads are very bumpy cobblestone. there are interesting places to visit which we didn't get to. favorite spot: chateau de Pierrefonds. lovely town, impressive (if 19th century rebuilt as renaissance chateaux.

    It is a small nice town.

    It is a small nice town. You can reach all sightseeing locations by walking. It is also quite close to Paris in case you want to do a day trip to Paris. We drove back and forth, it takes around 70 minutes or so. Also you can take train. It is quite convenient.

    The dowdy outside of the hotel is deceptive. Inside it is spacious, modern and very pleasant. It has places to work near the bar and restaurant. It also has a gated car park. It is outside of town so there is not much of interest nearby but if you are stopping off for a night for example it is an excellent choice. If you have time and are interested there are some very interesting things to see in Compiègne including the museum and monument of the 1918 and 1940 armistices and the former Nazi internment and deportation camp.

    Nice cosy room in an old house with a very relaxing atmosphere. Apart from the room with private bathroom, there is access to a seperate living room with salon and a table which allows for socializing with other guests (if there are. Not in my case). Host Sophie is very hospitable and gladly helps if you need advice about restaurants, best way to get in en out of the city, ... If I need to be in Compiègne once again, I will come back to La Maison du Ville

    We understood that Alfred hotels is a start-up. Well, they are doing it very good! The hotel is in walking distance from the city center. We were lucky and got an upgrade, so we had a very big room! The rooms are still a little sober but the beds are comfortable, bathroom and room very clean. The car could be parked safely almost right next door. I can only recommend staying there!
