Not much around other than bars and restaurants which were mostly Italians and the others sold pizza and pasta! Beaches are all pebbled so we went to the private beach clubs to get sunbeds (different prices at each one, so check before booking) or maybe look at buying a deckchair or sunlounger at a local shop, it will definitely br cheaper. Highly recommend the Pennetti Pizza Club on the promenade and Pauls patisserie. Train station easy to get to and trains very reliable and tickets are well priced. We stayed in Haut-de-Cagnes rather than Cagnes sur Mer. Beautiful hilltop village with swifts swooping through the narrow cobbled streets at dusk. In Cagnes-sur-Mer itself, bars and restaurants don't seem to be open all that often? Can be difficult to park in Haut de Cagnes. Lovely place, LOADS to do on the see front. Great location with easy access to the motorway which opens up loads of fantastic locations in the area. Be aware of the traffic. the scooter riders in particular are mental. We've encountered a few quite suicidal I might say. People are very friendly everywhere (except some bus drivers). Most people switch to English and are ready to help if necessary. The service is also very good everywhere. The place is not a party location, more for families and people who would like to have a quiet vacation. There are modern coffee places (Fragile, Copenhagen coffee lab) in addition to more traditional brasseries and boulangeries. Cagnes-sur- Mer is a thriving hub about 4 miles from Nice with train and bus connections to all the surrounding resorts and hill towns in the area. There are plenty of shops for food, a market and lots of restaurants. a free shuttle bus is available to take you to the hill village of Haut Cagnes, well worth a visit and there is also a free bus to the beach although lots of the local buses serve the beach too as well as it having its own station Cros de Cagnes. It is a town which combines the promenade ( tourist area ) and a working town with lots of shops, market and bus and train stations. The town provided easy access to Vence and Nice. Those interested in Art and History will be delighted with Renoir’s house and the Grimaldi Palace in Cagnes-sur-Mer. The Matisse Chapel ( Vence ) and lots of musee in Nice. Also the beach is a 3 minute walk away and the area has many nice bars, restaurants, takeaways and a supermarket within 200 metres. As for the studio it is small but perfect for couples or solo travellers, everything is great, fully kitted out and clean and modern. 10/10 for an all round good experience.
