Quiet, small town with a supermarket and boulangerie close to Chinon and other Loire attractions. Advantages - it's rural, peaceful and the Vienne river is nearby too, plenty of scope for bike rides and tranquility. Disadvantages - you need a car to go to most places, including eating out. Problem: it was on a French national holiday. Most local restos were closed as was their kitchen so they kindly offered us an excellent cheese and salad evening meal. Perfect!
