    Avallon is an attractive market town in northern Burgundy.

    Avallon is an attractive market town in northern Burgundy. It is immersed in beautiful countryside, and is of a manageable size for walking around, sampling the shops, cafes, and restaurants, and enjoying the Burgundian architecture. It is quiet in May. It can be a nice base for a few days to adventure to nearby sites such as Vezelay and the Bazoche chateau.

    Very classy hotell. A bit pricey but I guess that’s what you need to pay in France for a decent hotell. The Breakfast was excellent (I loved that it was a served breakfast and no buffet). Also, please make sure to book the restaurant while staying-it was a true highlight of our trip.

    Good sized clean room in the modern extension with access to the garden area. Within walking distance of the town centre. Good breakfast. We had dinner at the hotel & it was very good. Good off-street parking too.

    It is a unique place , once a bar ( i think)now a Gîte In the center of Avallon. Spacious living room and a small courtyard Not like most B&B filled with IKEA stuff but more with a personal touch
