Valladolid surprises.
Valladolid surprises. At face value it doesn't match up to its illlustrious neighbours, but it reveals itself as you stay longer. There are many monuments, multiple and varied churches, parks, 2 outdoor pools, a riverside swimming beach, and it is where Christopher Columbus spent his last days (check out the museum). Don't expect English to be widely spoken and tours and museums are nearly all in Spanish. Plenty of dining options and adequate shopping. I found the people to be warm and friendly.
I found the people to be warm and friendly. I really liked the architecture, and the city is full of interesting historical sites and buildings. Endless choice of cafes/bars/restaurants (best tortilla I had was at a place called Luna, on Calle de Simon Aranda, a couple of minutes from Plaza Espana). Plenty of shops, chain and independent.
Plenty of shops, chain and independent. A city of history and culture with a beautiful main piazza. Loads of places to eat what ever cuisine you prefer. We chose Indian. I found Valladolid to be very lovely. This city’s plaza mayor is particularly beautiful. The sculpture exhibitions I saw at Collegio di San Gregorio were stunning. You will be really close to Plaza Mayor and some great restaurants, bars and shopping. The reception staff are extremely helpful and will provide lots of local advice if required. We had a comfortable room, which was really clean with an excellent bathroom. We had a spacious room with electrically opening roof windows. The garage was easily accessible and comfortable, with direct access to the reception by lift.
