The place for an overnight stopover when driving between Melbourne and Canberra/Sydney. Be sure not to miss the submarine in the park on the main street! The museum on the site was more interesting and informative than I expected. I had an excellent dinner in the beautifully renovated Holbrook Hotel, featuring local produce, maybe a little pricier than other options but well worth it.

This town is super friendly, with good food, things to do and just off highway so easily accessible for an overnight stay. But we'd be happy to stay longer, we loved the submarine, the shops, cafes, surrounding environment.

Great halfway point to stop the night when driving from Sydney to Melbourne. Its a quaint town that retains its history and old town feel.
The Holbrook Hotel serves excellent food. Award winning and worth a visit.

Its a really good town.
Its a really good town. The Pubs are good, one very traditional and the other nicely Renno'd with a terrific menu.
Bakery and Butcher is good. Motels on offer are varied so check a few out before booking. Nice to have a wander around and look at the submarine as well.

We enjoyed the short bushwalk along the creek and into town centre where we visited the very interesting pottery museum.
The more distant submarine park is a large open area with cafe restaurant and room for dog exercising and children to play.

The accommodation we chose was a cabin and it was great with everything one could need - privacy, a very comfortable bed and even a lovely verandah to have a wine and look out to green space. It was a lovely quiet location even though it was near a main road. The place felt like a village. It was very pet friendly for our small dog. Holbrook was also a very interesting town with a submarine museum.

Location was great, contactless check in and check out was easy. Everything was there that we needed, hot shower, comfortable bed, good heating and a kettle for coffee and tea. Short distance to the Holbrook hotel for dinner.

The room itself was comfortable and quiet. We went to the hotel next door for dinner - a bit far to walk to the Services Club - we liked the fact that there was a carport for the car, you don't get this at other places.
