This hotel was an absolute gem—perfectly located near everything, from shops and restaurants to the beach. The sea view from our room was breathtaking, especially at sunset. What truly set this stay apart, though, was the outstanding customer service. Every staff member was warm and helpful, but the Manager’s attention, Gabriel, was over the top. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Highly recommended!

A beautifully built and deorated property on the promenade in Sarande . Our terrace was large with comfortable furniture and a gorgeous view of the bay from the second floor. The room was immaculately cleaned daily and was furnished with a luxurious mattress and quality linens and pillows, very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast vas varied with many healthy and delicious options. It is apparent that much care has been taken in choosing the brekfast ingredients. The expresso, cappuccinos and, of course, the ice cream were all especially good. One of the main reasons that there is such a great attention to detail and service by all the staff at the Vale is the fantastic husband and wife team that manage the property. Aneisha, who oversees the breakfast and all day cafe and her husband, Reiddi, who seems to do everything else. Their professional but warm natures were very friendly but not intrusive. My wife and I stayed a month in Albania and our 5 nights at the Vale Hotel was our fondest memory. Highly recommended.

We booked Rozafa Palace Hotel through Booking.com based on the great reviews we saw — but the reality exceeded all our expectations. The hotel is located in the heart of Sarandë’s vibrant tourist area, perfectly positioned within walking or short driving distance to all the main attractions in and around the city, right in the heart of the Albanian Riviera. Upon arrival, we were welcomed into a beautiful boutique hotel featuring modern, elegant architecture and thoughtfully designed interiors. The rooms are spacious, well-organized, and ergonomically built for a truly comfortable stay. The bathroom and shower are both stylish and fully equipped — ideal for an extended vacation. Each room also comes with a lovely private balcony — perfect for relaxing in the evening. Breakfast was excellent: fresh, flavorful, and diverse — with vegetables, a variety of cheeses, baked goods, and different styles of omelets, all prepared with great attention to detail. Initially, we booked for 5 nights but ended up extending our stay for 4 more nights — the hotel staff handled the extension seamlessly and efficiently. If we had to highlight one exceptional aspect of this hotel, it would be the owner, Mr. Rafael, and his incredible team. This is, without exaggeration, the kindest, most helpful, and warm-hearted hotel staff we’ve encountered in decades of traveling around the world. When a personal issue came up and we needed assistance, Mr. Rafael went out of his way to help us — with no hesitation and no expectation of anything in return. In summary: don’t waste time searching for other options in the area. Just book Rozafa Palace Hotel and enjoy a truly exceptional vacation surrounded by warm, genuine people who care. Highly, highly recommended!

    The sea suddenly deepens, but the water wasn't salty. The city's beach was pebbly. You have to go to some more distant beaches for sand, but it's a fascinating city. It's definitely worth seeing.

    Sarandë has everything that a beach and activity related...

    Sarandë has everything that a beach and activity related centre could offer. Beaches, parks, historical sites, dining, accommodation are all available. The only concerns are excess traffic for a smaller city, overcrowded buses and wreckless scooter riders on the promenade.

    I liked that the heart of the city was compact enough, you could walk everywhere. The city was safe and peaceful. Compared to other Albanian cities we visited, the city was cleaner, but there are also many unfinished and dilapidated buildings in the cityscape. I also want to say that the homeless dogs living in the city may seem cute, but a member of our group of friends was bitten by a dog and we had to go to the hospital for first aid. So a warning to other visitors to the city, be more careful with these dogs.

    There are many restaurants and bars offering a large variety of food and drink choices. The area around the promenade very clean and easy to walk along. Lovely views across the bay towards Corfu. Sellers selling their wares on the promenade during the day, mainly in the evenings without the hassling of buying from them. Plenty of excursions also on offer either land or sea trips.

    Sarande was awful.

    Sarande was awful. Not the friendly Albanian experience I’d experienced elsewhere. Dirty beach. Covered in cigarette butts, plastic, bottle tops and broken glass. Every shop appears to invent prices for tourists, which far exceeds the prices of other areas in Albanian. Awful party boats moored along the esplanade playing dreadful music. Overpriced poor quality restaurants. I was glad to leave, which again hadn’t been my experience of other areas of Albania.

    We did a couple of tours.

    We did a couple of tours. One was a minivan tour showing us the blue eye and Gyrokaster which was brilliant then we took a boat tour down the coast which was definitely not our sort of trip, banging music was spoiling the peace and tranquility, the beach we were dropped at for 3 hours was covered in rubbish. Taxis are expensive but we used a local bus to go to Butrint and Ksamil which was easy and well worth doing. Sarande itself was very touristy even for September plenty of bars and restaurants at a reasonable price.

    Everything was absolutely perfect. The personel of the hotel is amazing, generous, kind and welcoming. The rooms are cleaned daily and the localisation is really good. Not far from the center and really close from the beach. It’s a brand new hotel and they deserve a lot of people. If you really want to live a good experience in Saranda the alpaso hôtel is the place to stay.

    Everything was perfect. The best hotel I stayed in during my trip to Albania. The room was well decorated, comfortable and there was also a hot tub, which was great especially that when I arrived in saranda, it was raining. 😄 the breakfast was tasty and the owner gave me some cake as I was in a rush for a day trip with a guide.
