Zur Alten Mine is situated 5 km outside of Graskop. Guests can walk around the dam in the gardens or hike up to the old mine.

The tastefully decorated chalets are fully equipped and some of them offer views. Each unit comes with a private bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer. The setting was gorgeous, the cottages have a nostalgic feel to it, beautifully kept with original details, a cosy woodstove (wood supplied) makes it complete. Delicious homemade cookies and a wondelful host make you feel so welcome. The travel tips are spot on. And of course the breakfast is fantastic!

It has breathtaking views from executive room. The rooms have excellent design, comfortable and clean. The hosts are nice. This lodge is a must-visit on a trip to Kruger park or back just for relaxing. I very rarely rate hotels as 10, but this is one of the few.

Skukuza Airport is 23 km from the property, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. Fantastic staff. The main caretaker, Kaley, is great when it comes to customer service. She made sure our stay was comfortable and even went out of the way to pack picnic sandwiches for us when we wanted to venture out on our own. The safari guide, Floid, is very knowledgeable, and if you stay for 2-3 days, he'll make sure you see every type of animal you had on your wish list. These guys include 1 complimentary safari per night of your stay (so if you stay for 3 nights, 3 safaris are inclusive), and I feel it's the best package because a couple of self drives in Kruger are a must do in my opinion, just for the thrill of it. The tents are quite comfortable and have all the amenities you'd expect in a luxurious hotel room. The AC works well (believe me, you NEED it if you visit in the summers like we did), the pool is clean, the bathrooms are great. The food was superlative - we had exotic 3 course complimentary dinners every single evening. I suggest booking a minimum of 3 days to really get the most out of Kruger.

Offering mountain views, Mbizane Escarpment Retreat in Schoemanskloof offers accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool, a shared lounge, a terrace, a restaurant and barbecue facilities. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. It truly is a 5 star glamming experience in every way! You can opt for self catering and the provision for that is outstanding - or do what we did, used the restaurant on site. They will also bring the restaurant to your tent and you just order from the menu! Every evening there was a full turn down service so that your tent was warm and cosy and heating, including electric blankets supplied. Our stay was in August so chilly at night. Our tent was in front of the river and every evening we lit a fire and gazed at the stunning night sky. An absolutely clear sky and we could switch off the main light switch to facilitate this. Though remote we had excellent wifi facilities. The staff were superb hosts and made sure every expectation of our stay was met and more. When we received our joining instructions and realised our little car would struggle with the road to Mbizane, a member of staff gave us secure parking at her home and took us to the site with all our luggage. We really appreciated this as the road is challenging. However, with the option to get a lift on a 4x4 vehicle this was no longer a problem.
