Short 15 mins drive from the airport, easily accessible with a rental car, with the cabin being both remote and actually not too far of a drive from a small supermarket etc. Extremely nice and helpful owners, with Cecilia being super warm and always at the ready to help, living on the same property. Very clean cabin, with a great high bed, incl.a remote-control adjustable matress and a huge panoramic window above the bed, for that perfectly relaxing viewing point for aurora. Highly recommendable !

Northernlight cabin is a beachfront property situated in Kiruna, 19 km from Kiruna Bus Station and 22 km from LKAB Visitor Centre. Located 22 km from Kiruna Train Station, the property provides a garden and free private parking. The property is non-smoking and is set 36 km from Esrange Space Center. What an amazing stay! We came here by accident as the weather on the north cape was bad and we just drived to Lapland instead and ended up here. There are lots of things to do around and we had the best Lappland experience of our trip here. Northern lights, reindeers, the lake right in front, the ice hotel very close by. I highly recommend to stay here! It was magical! We even extended our stay here.

The host, Johan, was really nice and hospitable and the location itself was lovely as it was remote and allowed us to gaze up at the aurora without light pollution getting in the way. Unfortunately I believe those were the only two reasons I was not entirely disappointed with my choice.

In the lounge bar you can sit and relax in front of the fireplace. It’s definitely the best hotel in Abisko according to locals and personal experience. The twins room was very cozy and the bath was clean and warm. There is a helipad just right next to the hotel, you could meet the aurora there if you do not want to walk 15 mins to the lakeside (but not far, really). We also love the restaurant, we spent our dinner time there during our stays, staff was really helpful and cheerful.

Buffet and continental breakfast options are available at the lodge. Reinseer feeding and a museum ticket included plus lovely staff and orignal sami food was amazing

Really nice experience. The host Stefan is the best. He is very helpful. We will be back soon. The location is perfect for exploring the northern part of Norrbotten (Swedish Lapland). We went to Abisko (twice), Nikkaluokta, Kebnekaise, Jokkmokk, Karesuando, Kaaresuvanto (Finland) and Narvik (Norway) - and other places. We really enjoyed the midnight-sun experience that you can get above the polar circle at summertime.

The property is very well maintained - clean rooms, clean shared bathrooms and clear lit paths in the evening. Minibar in our room was super convenient as we didn’t bring enough snacks with us 😊 Also lots of sleds available to have fun with
