The tandem hammocks in the garden were a perfect spot to relax and acclimatize for a few days. Eva and her son are such kind and gracious hosts. They prepared a delightful breakfast spread for us each morning. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the mountain views from our balcony. Staying here was an absolute highlight. There are also many trails to explore directly from the property. We would highly recommend staying here.

Offering a sun terrace and views of the mountain, The Lazy Dog Inn is situated 7 km from Huaraz, and 3,650 metres above sea level. Almost all units include a balcony and/or patio. The Lazy Dog inn is a wonderfully run eco lodge above Huarez and very close to many wonderful hikes. The owners have done a fantastic job of integrating their lodge into the local environment and economy. The staff were all fantastic-especially the women working the kitchen-meals were superb made with fresh grown crops from the green houses onsite. Wayne was a wealth of information and a pleasure to talk with after a day in the mountains. I cannot recommend this place enough!

We immediately felt at home and incredibly comfortable. For us it was a little paradise. The river that borders the house is perfect for swimming or fishing. From the outdoor kitchen you had a really beautiful view of the mountains, the river and the sunrise. It is a beautiful, quiet place with chickens, cats and sheep that belong to Walter's mother. She lives on the property and supplied us with little things to eat and drink from her little shop. When we were there, there were two baby cats that we really loved. It is super easy, quick and cheap to get to Huaraz town with the collectivo bus. From the property you can walk several small treks, such as to viewpoints and to a waterfall. We were lucky that Walter accompanied us on an adventurous hike to the waterfall. We already miss it and can highly recommend this beautiful spot in nature to everyone. It really exceeded our expectations. Thanks again to Walter and his mother.

Cuesta Serena is a boutique hotel offering accommodations with free WiFi access in common areas and mountain views in Anta-Huaraz. WOW this hotel blew us away. The new refurbishments were so beautiful, the designs were elegant and unique and the food was phenomenal. The healthy and delicious menu was the exact thing we were looking for before the huayhuash trek (still dreaming of the buddha bowl). What really set this property aside was the staff. We loved meeting and chatting to the team, they were really informative about the huayhuash trek as they had actually been guides in the past- this was so helpful for us and reassuring. This property is the perfect place to stay before or after any hiking/ trekking in Huaraz/ the Cordillera Blanca- I can't reccomend enough!
