I don’t know where to even start, just WOW! Since the moment I arrived, the owner Gudrun received me with open arms and gave me a map right away with places to visit around Snaefellsnes! She was very sweet and caring! The cabin was absolutely wonderful, equipped with everything you need to have a pleasant stay. The dinner both night was absolutely INCREDIBLE! The lamb and the pasta were SOOOOO GOOD! Worth it every penny! The breakfast was also wonderful. Gudrun really cares about her visitors, and you can truly tell by the way she helps and is always available, plus she’s a wonderful cook! As a solo traveler, it truly made me feel like home, which honestly, was the best! I’ve been in Iceland for 2 weeks now and have stayed at 10 different places, this one has been BY FAR! The best! What a wonderful stay!

Towels and bed linen are offered in the chalet. The accommodation offers a fireplace. Wow, this house was stunning. Clean, modern, private. The location was far out in the west countryside away from the touristy south, which was our plan, but convenient to explore the west of Iceland from. Yes, we did see the northern lights!!! Even though its out there away from bigger towns, a 20 min drive brought us to restaurants if we chose. The house had a hot tub, which we utilized daily and it was wonderful to sit under the stars and talk about our day and what to do tomorrow. The kitchen had all you needed (we purchased wine in the duty free shop at the airport and shopped in Borgarnes prior to arriving at the chalet). We ate most breakfasts and cooked our evening meals from the Chalet. The complex was quiet and the Chalet very private, not to mention the views incredible. You can hike from the chalet or drive a bit and hike and explore other areas. We drove to the Snaefellsjokull peninsular, which you can do and drive back in a day, but that made a long day because we stopped alot, so we choose to stay 1 night in Stykkisholmur to break up the drive. Another day we went down R550 to 52 to thingvellir Nat'l Park and drove part of the golden circle and stayed the night in vik to explore that area (Vik's a very long drive from the Chalet BTW). Drove the rest of the circle on our way home. Again a great location to explore from. We highly recommend The Luxury Chalet. In addition to it being an amazing accommodation splitting the cost with others made this a very affordable place for a 2 week stay. We will be back one day! Thank you Luxury Chalet for making our 1st trip to Iceland memorable. If you don't mind driving Iceland we loved everything about the Chalet and the area it's located in.

Everything was clean and tidy, good wifi.

Great small tidy cabin with beautiful views around it. It contained free coffee, tea, spices etc.
Fairly well equiped wooden cabin. Spacious enough for family of 4. Nice, not too difficult, hike to nearby crater.
Pool and natural springs were great. Dinner was yummy. Room was clean. The sorcerer’s cabin was neat. A charming hotel.
Very quiet, clean, comfortable and friendly staff. Good hot tub. The cafe across the valley normally shuts 5pm but the woman who runs it will cook dinner for guests (and she’s a very good cook)!
Great location with small creek right outside the cabin; friendly receptionist
Cozy cabin, crisp clean sheets and towels, hot shower and very useful little kitchen. And of course, the dreamy property. But best of all was Niels, the host. A beautiful positive soul. Thank you for your kindness!
The setting is lovely and the chalets face the sunset. They are wooden and despite the strong wind, our one was very warm and cosy. We had more than enough hot water and all necessities were available. It was a lot of fun staying there and we got to see the aurora from there. I would definitely recommend this place.
Great stay in the wooden cabin. Very well organized. The room was very clean and welcoming. Highly recommended for a stop in your road trip around Iceland!
Dalahyttur is really "in the middle of nowhere", reached after 6 km via a gravel road. The area around the huts looks a bit unkempt, but the cabin was clean, even if very cramped. There is simply no room for suitcases, at least in the standard cabins - and we couldn't leave our suitcases in the car. In addition, the hot water is limited in its availability by a boiler, so that two people do not always manage with the quantity
