We had a great time at the lodge during a two-night stay. Adrien provided an abundance of information about the local culture and volcanos, and organized a day trip to Cotopaxi with a local guide. Anouk was always waiting for us in the doorway to throw the latest piece of wood she had found. The bed we slept in was very comfortable with a heated blanket and an additional heater in the room. There was a firepit in our room that we regrettably didn't end up using, but it's there for those who enjoy fireside relaxation. Adrien prepared breakfast and dinner each day for us, all of which were filling and delicious.

Located on the foothill of Chimborazo Volcano, Chimborazo Lodge offers rooms with heating in Chimborazo Natural reserve. There is a restaurant, and free parking is provided. Riobamba is 36 km away. The lodge is set in an amazingly beautiful location at the foot of Mt. Chimborazo. The herd of llamas, alpaca and spunky vicuna are fun to watch. It was special to meet Marco and his family and learn about his life. He is a legend.

Set in Cotopaxi National Park, 6 km from the entrance, Chilcabamba Lodge has comfortable rooms charming with rustic-style décor. It’s a beautiful and quite comfortable place to stay. I travelled with my family and we booked two rooms, one deluxe room for 2 persons and a Comfort suite for 3 with 2 rooms. Both had a great interior design, comfortable beds, good working fireplaces, and ecological shampoos and body creams. For the breakfast, they served fruits with muesli, bread with homemade jam, eggs, and pancakes (and tigrillo for the second day). The staff was really attentive and polite the whole time. For one day we booked a full day excursion through the national park and the local guide was really attentive and considerate, too, especially with my older parents who had to walk very slowly. Finally, the view to the Cotopaxi volcano is amazing!! Thank you very much, Chilcabamba Lodge!
