We have visited Laguna de Apoyo a few times in the past, and have stayed in different hotels. San Simian was a lot better than the others. It had access to everything we needed, AND it was a lot more quiet, it had lots of shade and beautiful gardens. There is a hike to the Catarina Mirador 100 m away from the hotel, which was a bonus. You wake up every morning with the sounds of monkeys, birds, squirrels and a beautiful view of the water. You can order a coffee thermos and have it ready for you when you wake up in the morning, before breakfast, so you can enjoy it in your room or in the hammock outside your room, or by the lake. The shower in the cabin we stayed in was open concept. What a lovely experience to take a shower under the stars! There is always warm water, which is a plus in Nicaragua The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Daniel, the server is always ready to help with whatever you need. Daniel, the owner is amazing, He has lots of great information about the area, and about other places to stay in Nicaragua. He is always making sure that you are well taken care of, and he takes great care of his staff. We are already planning out next stay at San Simian. Can't recommend it enough!

The cabin had a lot of charm and was well equipped, the kitchen had a large fridge, microwave, stove with oven, toaster & everything else you would need. The room sizes were great, the a/c worked well, & the view was beautiful! The outside sitting area was very nice. A couple of cute cats visited, so bring some kibble 😊. Within walking distance to all amenities. Only regret was that we stayed just the one night.

Comfortable room and air conditioning right bt the courtyard and pool. All very friendly and helpful and even gave us a lift to the bus station when we left.

La Casa de Leo - Hostal, Restaurante y Artesania local terletak di San Juan de Oriente, 1.9km dari Mirador de Catarina dan 14km dari Volcan Mombacho. Breakfasts made by Yanet were excellent and different each day with fruits, eggs, rice and beans (gallo pinto) and coffee. The core family (Hébert, Yanet and their son Lester) with whom I dealt with everyday are truly genuine people, they have helped me 200% with research on land/houses in that area (my goal when I visited Nicaragua), We had excellent conversations, like I never had in other Latin countries, all in all if you want to understand this amazing country more and you speak Spanish, you will learn a lot. Also, members of the family are master potters, they have a small studio downstairs where you can buy their work and also, very recently, take a ceramics course on site. Don't forget to ask them who is 'Leo'

We had a great stay. Eventhough we arrived much later than expected, we were very warmly welcomed. Unfortunately we could only spend one night, next time we need to plan differently!

Dengan pemandangan gunung, Casa Bella terletak di La Laguna dan mempunyai restoran, khidmat bilik, bar snek, taman, teres dan barbeku. Very individual design and even with the busy hotel activity in the neighborhood Casa Bella is really calm. The high rise beds are very comfortable, with very intelligent solution for light switches and fans… very well working aircon. Kitchen equipped with basic ingredients, fridge with eggs and some drinks… we didnt use it, but it was nice to have the option. Dogs were not only welcome, they had a water bowl prepared in the common area. A small welcome board on the door was a very sweet plus to feel at home. Great to have the option to use restaurant service of Casa Marimba.
