Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodation 5 km from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. Beautiful hotel that feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, with lovely rooms and a cosy restaurant area. The hot tubs overlooking the lake are great. The food was very good both at dinner and breakfast (we loved the happy marriage cake - the best we had in Iceland - and the homemade blueberry jam!)

This hostel is located on Berunes farm by the Ring Road and is 45 km from the village of Djúpivogur. Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen, and lounges. Free WiFi is available. We got a very nice little house with everything we needed. The view was outstanding and the parking lot was right next the house.

Ormurinn Cottages is located in Egilsstadir. Free WiFi access is available throughout the property. The accommodation is very comfortable, charming, and its spot on the lake is just amazingly beautiful. The owner was very kind and helpful to let us check in a little earlier. I highly recommend this place.

Featuring a restaurant and cafe on site, Blabjorg Resort is in the fishing village of Borgarfjordur Eystri, 71 km from Egilsstadir. Amazing remote location, with fjords and sea view. Not sure what other types of rooms are there, but ocean view is really worth it, it is breathtaking. Amazing modern, clean room, everything super comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best and most varied throughout our ring road trip. Really nice staff.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about our stay in the Hengifoss lodge. It's a dream to stay here. Once entered you're greeted by the warm smell of ember caused by the wood that was used to make this house. The colours and the layout of the room is incredibly cosy. The fireplace keeps the house (almost too) warm, and the window + terrace give an exceptional view over the lake and mountains. The hosts are also amazing and gave us the feeling that we're not only welcome, but also that they really understand why we chose to go to Iceland. We asked for help with our fireplace and the host, Isabelle, came to the rescue. She tried to help us to lit a fire but to no avail. We did however have a really good conversation. However when she left, we were content enough. Yet still she knocked on the door and winked us to come over. She told us enthusiastically that the Northern Lights were dancing and fully visible, we had to come outside! The next morning it was kind of raining, a little bit. But the sun was also shining through the clouds. The husband, Steff, called me when I was standing on the terrace. He said: "There is a rainbow there!" and pointed towards slightly behind the house I was standing in front of. I walked to the side and indeed saw a beautiful rainbow. This might not say much to other people wanting to stay there. But to me it feels like these people have such a connection with Iceland, its beauty and understand that we are there for the same connection, they told us to look at beautiful views which Iceland offers, and we were delighted to follow their guidance. Thank you Isabelle and Steff, for the warm welcome. Whenever we're in Iceland and planning to go near Eggs, we will definitely make use of your beautiful little houses.

Hengifosslodge Skáldahús mempunyai pemandangan tasik, WiFi percuma dan tempat parking peribadi percuma di Egilsstadir, 5.9km dari Hengifoss. This property was in a remote location but very near the Hengifoss waterfall which was our next stop. Beautiful valley views. Cozy small and comfortable apartment.
