Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodation 5 km from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. Quiet, stylish and calm. The pleasant surprise was hot bath with a lake view and warm bathrobes. Breakfast was also good with a fresh home-made omelette (not very common in other hotels). Staff was very nice and helpful.

This hostel is located on Berunes farm by the Ring Road and is 45 km from the village of Djúpivogur. Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen, and lounges. Free WiFi is available. This is a cosy country home. The interior is truly remarkable with the colorful interior, wooden floor and original furniture. And everywhere are books and magazines for guests to take a moment to flick through and read. We also enjoyed the restaurant and the friendly staff. They know exactly when to be your friend chatting about the best of Iceland when to take orders or help with bags, and when to leave guests alone. This makes the stay very relaxing.

Featuring a restaurant and cafe on site, Blabjorg Resort is in the fishing village of Borgarfjordur Eystri, 71 km from Egilsstadir. the place is neat, beautiful view, delicious breakfast and Anna was so kind. It was short, but it really helped us rest and feel comfortable, like at home.

The owners were extremely welcoming and friendly and even prepare a small welcome gift in the kitchen. We would have loved staying longer.
