We booked the Chalet 'Hirondelle' for 8 persons (2 families). The appartment was perfect: all amenities, from fully fitted kitchen to barbecue, and wood for the outdoor fireplace. Excellent reception with the owners / managers. Great location to relax and enjoy the woods!

The host welcomed us as soon as we arrived. She even made us a hearty spaghetti dinner with very yummy sauce. The place was very good considering the location and price. Since we arrived late, it was a bit hard for us to see where the cabin is, but Marie showed us where it was. We wanted to thank her the next morning but she wasn't available at that time.

Hébergement de la Montagne St-Roch is situated in Saint Roch de Mekinac, near the river and 32 km from Shawinigan. Free private parking is available on site. It was a lovely stay in nature ! Michel was able to guide us for nice hikes, he also offered us to go kayaking departing from his terrain. The boat ride to see the beavers was lovely - he really has an eye to see them. The housing was very nice. We did one evening in a tipi and one evening in the 'le trappeur' chalet. The tipi is lovely, you can get away from the city - no electricity, just the noise of the stream and a camp fire. The chalet is also very nice - electricity inside and hot plates to cook. You still feel in the woods. It was overall a very nice stay. Would love to come back again.

Breakfast was great, particularly the jams. We really enjoyed talking to our hosts about their home and the area. The Gite des Soeurs was slightly out of our way in a quiet, pretty area of Quebec so worth a little detour from the highway.

We did not use Pool & Hot tub, but they were available. Location is Right off the Major Highway, 5 min. From a Large Shopping Plaza Wirh several restaurants and 12-15 min. from downtown by car…
