They were able to accommodate us last minute and they do one night stays which is awesome. The kids get to see animals and wake up listening to native birds in the surrounding bush.

Location was good for us as it is only a few minutes from the Mt Egmont National Park where we went hiking. Eltham is an interesting old village, one of the first dairying places in NZ with many old buildings and antique shops. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, providing breakfast and dinner as we arrived on a Sunday and there was not a lot open nearby. The building and rooms are absolutely amazing - the best on our trip in NZ, a 1900 building meticulously renovated and luxuriously appointed, extremely comfortable.
