Hosted by Mama Julia and Kk Mothy, we had an incredible experience at shady homestay for two days. Arrived on Tuesday afternoon, Julia and Mothy picked us up at Waisai. Storm was raging but they prepared everything so our big bags were not wet. Even though waves were very high, Timothy mastered ocean and found our way through the waves. We were then welcomed by the rest of the family with a delicious tea time and snorkeled in front of the homestay, lost in the small satellite islands around Gam island. The place is peaceful, quiet, and extremely beautiful in the middle of nowhere in the Raja Ampat : a Lunar experience. On Wednesday, Timothy and Julia organized us a fabulous daytrip around Gam Island between Sawingrai village, light water, labyrinth mangroves, magical reefs, caves, view points, snorkelings, painted hands geopark famous site, hidden bays, beach walk, coconut… everything was perfect and made very friendly and warm welcoming by Julia, and very fun with Timothy’s talents to drive the boat as a sports car driver in tight ways and hard turnovers ! We left on Thursday after another little trip with Timothy for a batcave and snorkeling morning. We saw everything with them : lots of reef fishes and bigger fishes, manta, dolphins, blacktop sharks, turtles … and even the rarest and endemic Wobbegong shark. What made the experience different and fantastic is the kindness of this whole family working together and making everything seem effortless and great even though it could be hard work for them. Shady Homestay is THE PLACE TO BE for visiting Gam island with the fun experience on board with Timothy and the warm welcome and comfort of the delicious food provided by Julia and their family. THANK YOU SO MUCH. We will definitely come back.

If you want true paradise waters in pure simplicity this place is perfect. Yes they very basic, but that’s exactly what we wanted to really feel true raja Ampat! There are only 3 huts so super quiet and they are very clean! No rats or nasties, and being over the water is amazing! The family are so lovely!!! They don’t speak English but are so kind and you feel that they respect your privacy also! The food was the best we had in raja ampat! We had meat or fish every day, with rice and 2 options of veg. The reef directly outside is beautiful with so much to see at your doorstep! It is a shared bathroom however it’s tucked away so you have privacy and we got used to it very quickly. Can’t recommend enough! We are so glad that we booked Korbekwan

This homestay on Besir island is ideally located near several interests spots in Raja Ampat. The place is calm, only two cabins on the water, connected to a village full of charm. The utilities are on the beach, near the owner's house. It's very clean and has everything required to answer basic needs. Regarding the rooms, mosquito net on the bed, fan, electricity at night, blankets, hammock, sunbed and basic furnitures. All the meals (included in the reservation) are served to your cabin, they vary and are prepared by an great cook! So everything is tasteful and good. No connection except if you get a SIM card on arrival at Sorong's airport but deconnection is great. It's easy to communicate with the owner who speaks well English (rare in Raja Ampat) and he tries his best for you to have the best stay possible. Him and his family are super nice and welcoming while respecting your privacy. I came with a friend and we stayed 3 full days, we had an amazing time there and we can only recommend this place. All the activities we've done through them were memorable, we had a lot of fun. Have a good holiday there!

We had a wonderful stay at Nyanse Homestay! The food is delicious, plentiful, and very varied. There are also many vegetarian options. The family is very friendly, and there are excursions available. We booked a jungle tour and snorkeling with manta rays, and we were not disappointed. We also saw blacktip reef sharks near the homestay. The restrooms are functional but clean, and there was always plenty of hand soap and toilet paper. If the village generator fails, Nyanse Homestay can produce electricity with its own generator, so you have light and can charge your phone overnight. We recommend Nyanse Homestay 100% and would return anytime.

The family gave us a wonderful stay!! The house reef is truly beautiful, the accommodation is spacious, clean and super comfortable. We were fed really well and they gave us great opportunities for trips to see mantas! Thank you so much for all your help getting us to Fam, we appreciated it so much! We won't ever forget this place.

A little paradise in Raja Ampat! Aron and his family are very good host, super friendly and always willing to help. A smile always around. In other reviews I read there are not activities and actually if you are a bit adventurous, not 100 mtrs swimming from there, you can snorkel and you will find turtles, sharks and a beautiful coral reef around. Be prepared to be connected with nature, lot of birds and very tasty and generous portions of food. Honestly the food is very, very nice 🙏🏼🤩🫶🏼 Thanks Aron and family, and a big kiss to little Louise🥰😘

Nyande is not a homestay, it's a resort. Esni and Andy knew exactly what their customers needed and prepared everything. Employees also treat customers with a very good attitude. During my stay in Nyande, I could enjoy delicious food, cool beer, and ice every day. When I go on an island trip, Esni is the best guide in R4. She explain all spot include of current. Yos and Salmon always ensured safe ship driving. I swear, they are the best team in R4. I'd like to thank you again to the staff of the kitchen, including Esni, Andy, Yos, Salmon, Judy. (Sorry I forgot their names.) I was lucky enough to stay in Nyande. If I go to R4 again, I will be the first to check if they have a vacancy in Nyande.
