Breakfast was EXCELLENT! The bacon, sausages and eggs were fresh and local produce. The location is a small and very picturesque village and our beautifully decorated bedroom had a view of the downs and the White Horse. We are gluten and dairy free and this did not impede our choice of food at all. Little touches like gluten-free biscuits in the bedroom were especially appreciated! The landlady was very caring, capable and charming as was the waitress.

The weekend that we spent at Rook Lane House yielded one delightful surprise after another. Topping them all was the welcome received from a host with a fabulous feel for all that you could want to make a stay special and memorable. This found a lovely echo in the charm and grace of the house itself, and the fascination of the history that comes with it. The restoration is superbly sympathetic, but with all mod. cons. laid on, creating some suitably stylish (and spotlessly clean) spaces in which to sleep and shower - and savour, moreover, a mouthwateringly delicious breakfast.

We decided to stay at Knoll Hill to enjoy the countryside rather to stay in the cities nearby and we couldn’t be more happy that this choice. We were welcome by the kind Joss that made us felt at home. The location is naturally beautiful but she put in it so much dedication and effort to guarantee her hosts a beautiful and relaxing stay. The even own a pub in the small village where the property is located and we had a really good supper there.

The cottage is a real jewel. It looks 'basic' from the outside but when you step in you inside you instantly feel at home. It's decorated beautifully, there's ample room and rooms/beds. There are games to play (we had a great game night), books to read and everything you would need in the kitchen to cook. The shower was amazing and it had the cutest outdoor courtyard. The host even left bread, honey, eggs, milk and fresh orange juice for us. Would HIGHLY recommend staying here

    Great room. Very comfortable beds, and very clean. Great shower, and large fresh towels. We were welcomed on arrival and shown our room. The welcome refreshments and fridge were much appreciated. Breakfast was tasty, and served with a smile. The place is well kept and the garden is beautiful. Plenty of parking and in a great peaceful location.

    Ideal location, good value free breakfast,free parking and very friendly and helpful staff. Stayed in room with balcony .All very clean and comfortable with fan provided as it was very hot.Despite the location it proved very quiet at night enabling a good nights sleep.Table and chairs on little balcony a nice touch.

Ideal place in the spring summer (a bit chilly in winter although an electric heater was supplied - take a hot water bottle :) Great wifi speed. Cheap pay & display parking close by, free on street parking after 6pm through to 8am.

    Breakfast girls were very pleasant and the food came quickly. They dealt with older guests very politely and in a homely manner. I liked the central location in Frome. The bathroom area was very clean and roomy.The towels were first class.Good bed pillows.
