I wish I had booked two nights in Matsumoto, instead of doing a night in Kamikochi. The host was very kind, showing me a tour around the home. He also made it easy to talk to by using a translation device? which was highly appreciated :). It was also nice and quiet, there were a couple other folks staying in the inn but I had not encountered them during my short stay. A good location pretty close to the subway station. There’s also the cutest cafe across the street that I highly recommend going to.

They felt like family and were super responsive to every request on WhatsApp. From restaurant and onsen suggestions to helping us book tables. They sent their own car in a snow storm to rescue us from cortina when all taxis cancelled on us. Words can't describe our appreciation and thank you for making our annual family trip so perfect.
