This is a traditional Japanese ryokan with public baths (gender separated). Dinner and breakfast are amazing and plentiful, with locally sourced organic produce (even coffee!). Our room (Japanese room with private toilet) was to the left of the entrance. It was very spacious. The heater worked very well as autumn night was a bit damp and cold. The beds are futons on wood bed frames on tatami, and they are super comfortable. As I have a whole-leg tattoo which is usually not permitted in the public baths, I notified Ranko in advance, and she reserved the private bath for us. The private bath was a very beautiful blue ceramic bath filled with warm (I don’t think it’s very hot) healing hot spring water from the area. Ranko’s warm personality really made the stay memorable. Be sure to ask her for recommendations of the areas. She is a well of knowledge of the area!

We spent three wonderful days in Hirosaki, a charming and authentic town that still feels untouched by mass tourism. It was refreshing to explore a place where the pace is slower and the culture feels so genuine. The absolute highlight of our stay was Guest House Chara, run by the kindest elderly couple, Fusao and Toshiko. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel completely at home—it wasn’t just a place to sleep, it truly felt like staying with family. Their house told a story, filled with warmth, history, and the little personal touches that made it feel lived-in and loved. From the amazing homemade breakfast to the delicious ramen dinners they prepared, every meal was made with care and love. The guest house is conveniently located, just a short walk from a supermarket and a laundromat, which made things really easy for us. This personal, welcoming experience truly made our trip special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a meaningful, off-the-beaten-path experience in Japan. ありがとうございます

Inaka no Kakurega Cottage Hideaway - Vacation STAY 19620v terletak di Inakadate, 44km dari Lake Towada, 46km dari Mata Air Panas Tsuta, dan 13km dari Istana Hirosaki. It’s a cosy cottage. Feels like home. Excellent for family holiday. All of us love the cottage. Surrounded by Apple trees and Sakura trees. How nice to be woken up by cuckoo birds in the morning. We will definitely come back if we ever visit Aomori again. Mr Aki was very helpful with our trip planning too.

Great start to our trip in Japan/Aomori. The host family was very kind and the children were really cute! We got dinner on our first night and breakfast on our last day. We bought some of their honey as well (self-harvested!) Really fresh and delicious home-cooked food (different from the oily city food I am used to). The futons were sooo comfortable too! It's really like living with your relatives (a home/farmstay rather than a hotel so keep your expectations aligned) We love it though! Separate shower and toilets (they do provide bath towel & face towel!). There's a fridge too! We took a walk around the farm/forest and the host showed us his mini waterfall as well :) To be honest, I was a little afraid of the stink bugs but it's not as bad as I thought (mostly harmless and the host teaches you how to capture them). There's an old traditional heater where they will burn firewood so it might get a little chilly but the futon keeps you very cozy.

Terletak di Aomori Aomori Prefectural Kyodokan dan A-FACTORY berdekatan, ツナゲル青森安方Villa Suite menyediakan penginapan dengan WiFi percuma dan tempat parking peribadi percuma. This house is huge! Really. We had 3 rooms, huge dining and big bath. House is clean, wifi is working, all is good.

This house is surrounded by apple orchard ( they are not Orchard owner ) , the room is very clean and comfortable . we can use kitchen freely. there's no restaurant near by , but you can get food from market about 10 minutes away by car . the host Mr. and Mrs. Kashima were very friendly , my rental car got accident , the bumper dropped , Mr. Kashima tried very hard to help me to fix it , really appreciate his effort. he also help me to book another air B&B for my next trip since that host only speak Japanese, it's great help , definitely stay at this place if I go to Hirosaki again .
