We stayed 6 days at casa Helena with our 18 months old child and had a great stay. Sicilio and his family are super friendly, they cook delicious food and breakfast. They are always ready to answer questions about logistics (such as airport transfer) or activities (tour of the island, hikes) and to share their experiences. I also recommend Sicilio’s brother as guide to climb the volcano!

I booked for 2 nights with breakfast included in October. It was the end of the rainy season and everyone in town was busy with renovations for the upcoming high season. It is a family business and the hosts are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Ciza is a professional, very knowledgeable and passionate tour guide and Rose is an excellent cook. When booking, I did not inform them of my dietary needs (very sorry) and they were able to accommodate me on the spot, which I appreciated very much. I decided to extend my stay for another 2 nights because I really enjoyed it and there are many things to explore. I would recommend not only staying at Ciza&Rose, but also letting them organize the hiking activities for you so that you get the most out of your vacation in Portela.

Located in Chã das Caldeiras, casa alcindo offers a bar. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. Guests can enjoy mountain views. Very friendly and helpful staff. Helped us with finding a local guide who spoke English. Maniole made the experience for us - such a lovely, patient and kind man. He enabled us to climb the volcano.

Villages on the lava field in caldera is incredible. Jose is super host. He organize pick up, cooking, tours around island. They brothers are very good gidės to climb to volcano. My big thanks to Felix. I would reccomend to stay there min. 2 nights.

The house is beautiful and the location is perfect. It is better than the pictures.There's always a breeze from the sea, the pool is refreshing, the view of the volcano and the sea at the same time just stunning. Pipi and her family/team are perfect hosts. We are vegetarians and didn't expect much, then we had three super nice dinners and the most beautiful breakfasts with lots of possibilities. Really hope to go back there some day.

Casa Ze & sonia mempunyai pemandangan gunung, WiFi percuma dan tempat parking peribadi percuma, terletak di Portela. Ze and Sonia welcomed us with infinite care. The location, right in the middle of the Caldeira is ideal. Sonia is an exceptional cook!! This is a place we will not forget. 👍

I lived the old colonial time house, which was transformed into the hotel. Renovation is really well done which preserves the spirit of the building and is very atmospheric. Emmanuel, chef of staff is very friendly and helpful. He also makes great cocktails! Best place to stay in Sao Filipe.

He provided us with reliable and personalised information, chauffeured us around and lovingly cooked for us three times a day on request. All this in an incredible location and architecture. Highly recommended!

Spacious, clean room with a sea view, you can sleep listening to the waves. The staff was very friendly and helpful, good breakfast served at the roof. Super happy with this accommodation. :)
