We stayed 6 days at casa Helena with our 18 months old child and had a great stay. Sicilio and his family are super friendly, they cook delicious food and breakfast. They are always ready to answer questions about logistics (such as airport transfer) or activities (tour of the island, hikes) and to share their experiences. I also recommend Sicilio’s brother as guide to climb the volcano!

The location, the friendly, attentive, multi-lingual staff, the food, the beautiful patio, the piece and quiet, the view ... We LOVED it! Good starting point for various hikes. Highly recommend! Know before you go: water is rationed, but still plenty to clean up properly ;) The accommodation's restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, snacks for take away, dinner and drinks. All at fair pricing considering the location. Credit card payment is possible (foreign cards with a 3% fee). For those sore after hiking, you may even book a massage.

It is better than the pictures.There's always a breeze from the sea, the pool is refreshing, the view of the volcano and the sea at the same time just stunning. Pipi and her family/team are perfect hosts. We are vegetarians and didn't expect much, then we had three super nice dinners and the most beautiful breakfasts with lots of possibilities. Really hope to go back there some day.

Ze and Sonia were super nice, friendly and accommodating. They could speak French relatively well. The room is simple but functional. The meals prepared were very delicious. The WiFi was good to work from there, and in case, the 4G antenna is located nearby. Absolutely recommended!

I lived the old colonial time house, which was transformed into the hotel. Renovation is really well done which preserves the spirit of the building and is very atmospheric. Emmanuel, chef of staff is very friendly and helpful. He also makes great cocktails! Best place to stay in Sao Filipe.
