I've never been in a more rustic environment than in Mendatica. It's the ideal retreat from busy city life! You can walk for days in the forests without encountering anyone, see lots of wildlife and starry skies. The cabin is big and very well maintained, and beautifully decorated. The kitchenette is well-equipped, with pans, pots and bialettis, an induction cooking plate, a fridge and an electric oven. The owner, Piero, is very helpful and friendly. Something to keep in mind: Mendatica is very small. Consider cooking yourself (nearest restaurant is 15 min by car) and visiting a supermarket before going up in the mountains. But there is also a very small shop in the village for some basic groceries (pasta, passata, canned foods,...)

Great location on our travels around the towns of Liguria. This is off the beaten track and high up the valley, with a stunning view looking down all the way to the sea. (It's around 600m above sea level.) Rosalie was there to greet us with a lovely cup of tea. The house is rustic charm personified and our room was very sweet. Rosalie suggested going to Pieve Di Teco for dinner and we are so glad we did. What a wonderful secret the old town is. We had a great sleep and a lovely relaxed breakfast. Rosalie as a host is superb. She was so helpful and friendly and sorted out our car woes, even speaking to the garage on our behalf (due to our woeful Italian). We are so glad we stayed here and hope to return again.

We loved this tranquil haven in the mountains. We felt relaxed as soon as we arrived. The property is gorgeous, spacious, full of character, light, well-equipped, clean and hosted beautifully. We would absolutely recommend a stay to people who have use of a car. It really is in the middle of nowhere and you have to drive to shops and facilities. Birdsong and mountains are your backdrop here. A real escape.

Great location in the heart of Badalucco, a short stroll from the shops, bars and river. Free car parking in either of the car parks, a little walk but a pretty one. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen, oven, hob and fridge freezer. Wifi and TV with Netflix. It is literally a ten minute drive to the coast in Arma di Taggia but you also have the hills and mountains around you. Francesca is a great host and checked that all was OK for us.

    It’s a beautiful house lost in a small village. This place is quiet and peacefull. It’s a small paradise that is worth the time to reach it. We have stayed there with our 3 children. The children were exploring the village on their own. They are many great walk around. The owner Raphaella is the kindest person. She cared a lot about our happiness.

    Nice apartment in a small village, friendly and helpful owner. It is in good location to start trips to the mountains, but also not too far from the beach. It is in the centre of the village, easy to find anything you may need.
