Excellent location right in the heart of Assisi, real old world feeling to both the house and the neighbourhood. Holiday lets don’t have to be perfect for us to love them, but Casa Frate Elia is both loveable and perfect. It's located mere metres away from the stunning Basilica di San Francesco. This place of devotion and pilgrimage is also a monument to the art of the fresco. Make sure you plan for at least a couple of visits during your stay – the lower and upper basilicas are too much to take in on a single visit. The apartment is fresh, comfortable and roomy, with a great sofa, fully equipped kitchen, plus good wi-fi and wonderful street and country views. The inclusion of a traditional moka stove-top coffee pot is a nice touch. Having a washing machine is always a big bonus for us when we're travelling. For arrival and departure, it’s very close to the bus station, where you can also get taxis. Our remote host, Marco, was very helpful and charming. Casa Frate Elia is truly exceptional and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and to stay here again in marvellous Assisi.

Beautiful place. The room has everything one would need. For a couple it was perfect but could also be perfect for families. The breakfast was very good and the host did everything they could to accommodate our special requirements. Loved the pool as well.

Beautiful property, great location, and amazing room. This property is absolutely amazing, and every detail was thoughtful and beautiful. Only a 15-minute walk to Assisi, although uphill the entire city is a hill so that's to be expected. The restaurant on the property is also amazing.

Lovely new apartments with an amazing view of Assisi. Apartments are small but have everything you could need, including a great little kitchen and all you could ask for in a packaged breakfast. Parking is secure, there is easy access to walk to the Basilica or there is a bus from the end of the road to the top of town, super convenient. Wifi is good. Elisabetta the host is lovely and provided lots of helpful suggestions, we were even able to visit her family olive oil farm which was fantastic.

    The location is just extraordinary. So central to everything in Assisi and with parking just a few metres away, an ideal place to explore the scores of beautiful villages across this part of Umbria and Tuscany. The host/manager Giordano is extremely attentive and helpful, from helping with any luggage to presenting us with a a local bottle of wine upon arrival. The view from our window was spectacular. The apartment building so atmospheric. The apartment is huge; with kitchen washing machine and even a second bed upstairs.

    Location is perfect. Close to public parking and great for exploring Assisi and surrounding villages. Roberto, the owner, was extremely well organised, knowledgeable and always willing to help. An amazing stay and if we return to Assisi it is a no brainer that we will book this place again.

    Absolutely fabulous property at the base of the village of Assisi. If you are not physically fit he would probably want to have a car drive you up but if you’re up for an adventure it takes about 15 minutes. The property is stunning in every way and the food at the restaurant was some of the best we had in Italy
